Mary Alice Underhile

Mary Alice Underhile, age 82, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.

Mary was born March 09, 1940 in Tunnel Hill, Illinois, a daughter of Earl and Mary Helen (Holmes) Whitehead. She had worked as a waitress and also at the Holiday Inn.

She is survived by two children, Rick (John Cowles) Underhile and Zabrina (Vernon) Ganzer; one grandchild, Heather White; and one brother, Bob (Charlotte) Whitehead. She is preceded in death by her former husband Carl Underhile; one grandson, Joshua Ryan White; her parents, Earl S. and Mary Helen (Holmes) Whitehead; and one sister, Kay Sharpe.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Olmsted Cemetery in Pulaski County. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.
