Mattie Anne Rongey

Mattie Anne Rongey, fourteen month old beloved daughter of Matthew Robert and Sarah Elizabeth (Johnson) Rongey, passed away at 7:28pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.

Mattie was born in Carbondale on August 11, 2020, little sister to Lily Mae and Adley Elizabeth Rongey. 

She is also survived by her:

Maternal Grandparents- Louie and Christina Johnson of Crab Orchard

Paternal Grandfather- Robert Rongey, Jr. of Marion

Paternal Grandmother- Bethany Laird of Carterville

Uncle- Drew and Kati Johnson of Stonefort

Aunt- Jennifer Rongey of Carterville

A host of several great grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who also

     loved and adored her greatly

She was preceded in death by her cousin- Geri Ann Glasco and four great grandfathers- Ernest Johnson, Robert Rongey, Sr., Kenneth Laird, and Don Kommer.

Private visitation and funeral services will be held at Stonefort General Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Davis-Prairie Cemetery. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.
