Melanie Jones

Melanie Jones, 67, of Marion passed away on Tuesday July 16 at Shawnee Christian Village in Herrin, IL.

Melanie was born on July 8, 1952 in Kokomo, IN to the late Guy and Helen (Penrod) Baker.

Melanie and her husband Gary owned and operated Classy Used Furniture in Marion. She loved playing the piano, designing and creating beautiful floral arrangements, spending time with friends, riding with Gary on his motorcycle and fishing.

She is survived by her husband Gary Jones of Marion and Children: Raynette (Duane) Caswell of Jacksonville FL, Tracy Jones (Jim) of Canton OH, Rick Jones (Katie) of Marion IL, Bryan Jones of Marion IL, Danny (Andrea) Jones of Jacksonville FL, Alex (Gina) Patchett of Marion IL, Heather (John) Jansen of Allentown PA, and Sarah Moore of Marion IL. She is also survived by her brothers Joe (Leana) Baker of Marion IL and Marty (Mary) Baker of Marion IL.

Melanie leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Shaun Jones and her in-laws Earl & Nona (Robinson) Jones of Carterville IL.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 25th at Rose Hill Cemetery and a memorial will take place on Thursday July 25th from 4-6 pm at Fern Clyffe State Park. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
