Creal Springs-Melvin Powell, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Saline Care Center.
Melvin was born on September 3, 1936 in Creal Springs to Vernie and Recil (Buckner) Powell. He married Shirley Robertson on September 14, 1957 in Creal Springs.
Melvin retired from the Vienna Correctional Center after many years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Harlan Powell and sister, Margaret Rushing.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Jim Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
