MARION-Mikaya McKinney, 31, of Marion, passed away at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2005 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the Cornerstone Community Church in Marion with Reverend Eddie Pullen, Reverend Robert Schierbaum and Dale Arnold officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the church. The family will continue to greet visitors after the funeral service. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery, in Goreville at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 30, 2005. Memorials may be made to the John A. Ms. McKinney was born on November 20, 1973 in Herrin, Illinois to Mike and Jacqueline Kay (Herron) McKinney. Survivors include her mother and step-father, Kay and Larry Benard of Goreville; father and step-mother, Mike and Debbie McKinney of Nashville, Tennessee; sister and brother-in-law, Molly and Josh Parrish; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Angie Benard of Goreville; nieces, Tori Benard and Katie Benard both of Goreville; grandfather, Bill Herron of Cambria; grandmother, Betty Terry of Goreville; aunt, Liz Herron of Marion; several other aunts, uncles and cousin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lynn Peeler. Mikaya loved Disney characters and working with others using sign language. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be missed.
