Goreville- Patricia Rhea “Pat” Brooks, 80, of Goreville, passed away at 11:22 PM, Monday, May 20, 2019 at her home.

Pat was born on May 5, 1939 in Shoal Creek Township, Illinois to Paul J. and Juliet Ruth (Linder) Scheib. She married Edward Brooks on June 20, 1964 in Granite City, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2010.

She was a homemaker to the fullest extent and cared deeply and worked very hard for her children. Pat was an intelligent, spiritual, philosophical woman who believed in God and enjoyed friendly conversation about different faith communities. She was a multi-talented woman who could achieve most any task like sewing costumes and clothing for her children and grandchildren, electrical work around the house and for neighbors and she was a beautician who worked from home or for various funeral homes. In her spare time she enjoyed horseback riding and cooking. She most enjoyed time spent with her beloved family.

Survivors include-

Son- James E. Houser and wife Donna Marie of Springfield

Son- Maurice E. Brooks and girlfriend Karen Mullers of Simpsonville, South Carolina

Daughter- Pamela Ward and husband Barry of Lake of Egypt

Nine Grandchildren Ten Great Grandchildren

Brother- LaRue Bartles of Springfield Brother- Duane Scheib of Tucson, Arizona

Sister- JoAnn Scheib of Tucson, Arizona

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
