MARION-Paul E. Stewart, 76, of Marion, passed away at 6:05 PM, Sunday, July 11, 2004 at St. Louis University Hospital surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend John Howat officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Marion. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147. Memorials may be made to the donor`s choice, envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Stewart was born on September 26, 1927 in Marion, Illinois to Clayton and Lucille (Cash) Stewart. He married Louise Hill on September 21, 1946 in Marion and she survives. Other survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Paul, Jr. and Kimberly Stewart of Marion; daughters, Dorothy A. Tacchia of Joliet, and Linda K. Isaacson of Marion; grandchildren, James F. and Gina Tacchia, Tracy L. Stewart, Patty L. Stewart, Paul E., III and Kate Stewart, and Michael Onderisin; great granddaughter, Emma Marie Tacchia; sister and brother-in-law, Lillie and Arthur `Butch` Boatright of Marion; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Liz Stewart of Marion, Billy and Terry Stewart of Marion, Hal Stewart of Arizona, Jerry and Toni Stewart of Marion and Jackie and Cheryl Stewart of Marion; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Fran Stewart; and brother, Harry Stewart. Mr. Stewart was of the Baptist Faith. He was a retired truck driver after many years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Marion Eagles # 2457 and Marion VFW Post # 1301, and a member of American Legion Post #147. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was an avid Chicago Cub Fan.
