Prudence Stirewalt

Marion-Prudence Ann Stirewalt, 87, passed away on May 12, 2018 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Prudence was born on February 22, 1931 in Danville to Cedric and Irene Mary (Carrier) Rice. She loved indoor plants, they gave her much joy. Prudence enjoyed watching birds and was an avid animal lover.  During 1960-1970, while living in Champaign, she was the President of the Jr. Women’s Club.  She sang in the Champaign County fair for many years and lead in many play productions there.  Prudence also enjoyed crafts, ceramics and drawing and loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: Sons-Michael and Wendy Stirewalt of Dwight, IL and Kevin Stirewalt of Benton Daughter-Karen Irwin of Marion Grandchildren: Laura and Travis Halstead Lisa and Ryan Offermann Zachary and Samantha Irwin Dustin and Samantha Irwin Dean and Sierra Vander Zanden Cody Gibson Great grandchildren: Landon Lee Offermann Blayze Michael Halstead Rylan Cooper Offermann Lillian Mae Vander Zanden Breckin Loyd Halstead Cooper Donald Irwin Ella Rose Irwin Addison Grace Van der Zanden Remington Wilder Irwin Baby boy Irwin on the way Sisters-Mary Anne and Chris Gristina of Fort Worth, TX and Melinda and Myron Isaac of Fisher, IL She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Evan Rice and son in law, Don Irwin. Services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 12pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Monsignor Thomas Flach officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
