Richard Bethel

Richard Bethel, age 64, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Richard was born May 24, 1960 in Marion, Illinois, a son of William and Joann (Cottonaro) Bethel. He married the love of his life, Donna Colyer in October of 2006. Richard grew up in Marion and had many occupations over the course of his life to include building cabinets, serving in the Navy and cutting meat. He enjoyed spending time with his family and wife. He loved music, baking, maintaining his lawn and gardening.

He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Lynne Jacobs of Marion, IL, two sons, Jacob and William Bethel of Missouri, two grandchildren, Jaiden Lynne Jacobs of Elkhart, IL and Kian Ebin Jacobs of Elkhart, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Gordon Bethel and Jo Ann Bethel and four brothers, Kenny Bethel, William Bethel, Terry Bethel, and John Henry Bethel.
