Marion- Robert Francis Bayles, age 80, of Marion, passed away at 11:47am on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Veteran’s Affairs Nursing Home in Marion.

Robert was born in Creal Springs on July 14, 1938, the son of James Martin and Leona Catherine (Lorenz) Bayles. He and his wife, Mathilda, married on June 11, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marion. He was the soldier she so proudly loved and adored.

Survivors include his loving wife- Mathilda Bayles of Marion
Daughter- Ann Elizabeth Graham
Three Grandsons- Lane Robert, Clay Martin, and Ty Avery
Sister- Dora Palmer of Carterville
Several Nieces and Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters- Helen Bayles, Margaret Bennett, Dorothy Trapani, and Virginia Smothers, and brother- James Louis Bayles.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Father Brian Barker and Father Thomas Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy with military honors provided by Marion and Stonefort VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance from the Navy Ritual Team. A time of visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
