Robert Gilpin

Marion-Robert Gilpin, 90, passed away on October 17, 2017 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Robert was born on October 17, 1927 in Crab Orchard to Cyrus and Dana (Ferris) Gilpin. He married Zelma Lorene Jones on October 24, 1947 in Bartonville, IL.  She preceded him in death on April 21, 2016. Robert loved camping, boating and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include: Daughters-Pamela Mae Markos (Anthony) of Lockport, IL and Deborah Kay Ellis (Thomas) of Marion Grandchildren-Diana Markos and Robin Oko Great grandchildren-Kiaya Darlin Curd; Kaylie Sue Trent and Braden Ray Trent He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. John Howat officiating. Burial will follows at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
