Robert Dale Hopkins

Robert Dale Hopkins, age 73, of Marion, Illinois,  passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at his residence.

Robert was born October 15, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Robert and Virginia M. (Pietrwski) Hopkins.  He married Myra R. Wolff on August 26, 1978.  She passed away January 1, 2001.  Robert grew up in Chicago and graduated Saint Rita High School in Chicago, IL in 1967.  After he graduated he worked in real estate.   Following his father he later worked in home improvements and home renovations.  In 1988 he started a job in sales of home improvement products, which he did until his retirement.  He moved to Marion, IL in 2014.  Robert loved to read, do crossword puzzles, watch TV and was a history buff.  Robert also loved playing Bocce Ball.   

He is survived by his significant other Diane Hoffmann of Marion, IL and one son, Chris R. Hopkins of Atlanta, GA.  He is preceded in death by his wife Myra R. Hopkins; his parents, Robert P. and Virginia M. Hopkins; and one brother, William Hopkins.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 20th, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, IL.  Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, May 20, 2023, 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with Father Tom Barrett officiating.  Burial will follow at Saint John Catholic Cemetery in West Frankfort,  IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
