Marion- Rosa Antoinetta Boccia Jordan Hodge, aged 74, of Marion, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 22. She was at home recovering from recent heart surgery. Rosa was born on January 22, 1942, in Naples, Italy, the daughter of Fortunato and Assunta Boccia.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Rosa touched the lives of many. From those who stopped to admire her wondrous garden, to those who enjoyed her extraordinary Italian cooking, she gave with a contagious spirit of generosity and love. A native of Italy, Rosa became a US citizen after coming to America.
Rosa is survived by her husband, Bobby Hodge; her three daughters, Brenda Jones (Dan Jones), Linda Johnson (Kendall Johnson), Angela Troxel, and step-son Robert Hodge (Donna Hodge) of Southern Illinois; her son Robert Jordan of Florida; her grandchildren, Sabrina Coppins, Brittany Magsig, Brady Magsig, Kyle Johnson, Drew Johnson, Troy Johnson, Logan Troxel, Katie Troxel, Keirston Hodge, Morgan Popek and Austin Hodge; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Phillip Jordan.
There will be a Memorial Service held on Thursday, October 27, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion at 7pm. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her name to the American Heart Association, 2141 W. White Oaks Dr. Suite A, Springfield, IL 62704 or the Marion Garden Club, Denise Stearns, President, 5735 Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
