Ruth Ann Onstott Palmer was born on Nov. 7th 1926 to Jennifer and Harvey Onstott of Marion, IL. She was married to Henry Lavern Palmer for more than 50 years when he passed in 2008. Survivors include: Ruth Ann's son Paul Palmer, his ex-wife Janet Marie Rhoades Palmer, her grandchildren; Michael Palmer, Chris Palmer, and Tasha Doerr and one great-grandchild Harvey Donald.
While Ruth Ann was mainly a homemaker she had many accomplishments. Before marrying she took care of her mother Jennifer until she passed on. Then after having Paul (1960) and Susan (1962), when they had a farm, she taught Paul how to raise a small herd of cattle when he was around 11. She also saw to it that Susan learned to play piano like her. Ruth Ann also took the time to make sure both of them became Christians as she loved Jesus. You did not have to ask as it showed by the way she lived her life. Ruth Ann taught many other children about Jesus in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and helped at Third Baptist Church in Marion for at least 50 years.
