Sara E. Peters

Johnston City- Sara Elizabeth Peters, 98, of Johnston City, passed away at 7:42, AM, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Herrin Hospital. Sara was born on October 25, 1920 in Hannibal, MO to Clarence and Mae (Nunns) Sandige. She was a hard working talented woman who loved the Lord. She was a member of the Baptist church in Shelbyville, MO. She did books for the town of Shelbyville for many years and was gifted at finding properties, fixing them up selling them. She was quite creative and also enjoyed sewing. Sara is survived by her daughter- Jewell Young of Johnston City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and son- James Gupton. Private services will be held at a later date and inurnment will be held at Oddfellows Cemetery in Shelbyville, MO. Memorial arrangements were made at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
