Sharon Kersten

Marion-Sharon Kersten, 77, passed away at 8:00pm on Friday, February 19, 2016 at her home. Sharon was born on May 14, 1938 in Whiteash to Waldo and Lois Pearl (Angel) Stover.  She married Melvin Kersten in Paducah on March 28, 1990.  He preceded her in death on May 26, 2015. Sharon loved to garden and crotchet; she enjoyed reading and was always busy visiting family and friends, maintaining lifelong friendships.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include: Daughter-Joni and Don Eberhart of Johnston City Son-Greg Williams of White Co Step children: Lynn and Roger Followell of Marion Jan and Randy Barwick of Marion Lee and Linda Kersten of Carbondale 15 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren Brother-Lindell and Gayle Stover of Spillertown Brothers in law: Don Hilliard of Monroe, MI David Kersten of Sebring, OH Gary and Debbie Kersten of Peoria, AZ 18 nieces and nephews Also a host of family and friends Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; sister, Marilyn Hilliard and step granddaughter, Lori Zukas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 1pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will follow at Whiteash Cemetery.  Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
