Sidney David Ewing, age 43, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at V.A. Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Sidney was born January 29, 1980 in Marion, Illinois, a son of Ronnie and Leomia (Ewing) Cash. Sidney Ewing, a man whose presence brought light and love to our lives. Sidney, a devoted father to his beautiful daughters and precious baby boy, was truly an artist at heart. His creative drawings and passion for fashion showcased the depth of his artistic spirit, making him one of the most stylish men we've ever known.

Standing tall in both stature and character, Sidney towered over his family with a warmth that embraced us all. A true homebody, he found joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially relishing moments watching the latest action movie with his family by his side. Sidney's love for music, evident in his early years of writing and recording, added another layer to the vibrant tapestry of his life.

Raised in faith, Sidney's journey with Christ began at Paul Chapel Church, where he was baptized as a young boy, confessing his life to the Lord. His love and respect for his mother, Leomia Ewing, were unwavering, as he resided with her until his final moments.

Sidney's commitment to service led him to enlist in the United States Armed Services straight out of high school. Stationed in the great state of Texas, he dedicated his time to serving his country before returning home to Marion, IL, with an honorable discharge. It was there that he embarked on the beautiful journey of leaving his legacy on earth, welcoming his first child a beautiful daughter with his love Renata Alexander, LeRaya Rochelle Harris, 14 another beautiful daughter Isabella Cydney Ewing 5, and later, a handsome little boy Tre Justice Ewing 5 months.

As we grapple with the pain of Sidney's departure on December 1, 2023, let us find solace in the fact that he lived an honorable life. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and through his children, he has left us with a lasting reminder of the love that defined him.
