MARION-Thelma Robertson, 88, of Marion, passed away at 7:35 PM, Friday, May 13, 2005 at the home of her son. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the First Apostolic Church in Marion with Reverend John Boyd and Reverend R. G. Walls officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, May 16, 2005 at the church. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery, southeast of Marion. Memorials may be made to the Love and Care Cancer Fund; envelopes are available at the funeral home and church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Robertson was born on September 6, 1916 in Williamson County, Illinois to John Logan and Garvie (Jarrett) Deaton. She married Raymond Boyd, who became a minister in Southern Illinois, after his death she continued his ministry. She later married Ralph Robertson, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Reverend John and Alice Boyd of Goreville; daughters and son-in-law, Connie Gerhardt of Marion and LaDonna and Lowell Dryden of the Lake of Egypt; grandchildren, Gary and Cristine Cosby, Sherry Ray, Kimberly and Greg Steinsultz, Mark and Belynda Boyd, Dena and Tim Gault, and Marti and Pete Craig; sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Ella and Marion Bush of Marion and Pauline Camden of Creal Springs; sisters-in-law, Francis Jourdan and Florene Deaton; granddaughter-in-law, Kathleen Taylor; and her 2nd husband`s children, Bruce and Larry Robertson and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; daughter, Dorothy Boyd; grandson, Steven Boyd; and three brothers, Herbert, Horace and Herman Deaton. Mrs. Robertson was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Marion. She retired from the Anna State Hospital where she worked in the Dietary Department. She loved to read and entertain family and friends. She was loved by all and will be missed.
