William Floyde Martin, age 94, formerly of Marion, Illinois,  passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Good Samaritan Northwood Society Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

William was born March 27, 1929 in Equality, Illinois, a son of John and Millie (Pyles) Martin. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Riddle on July 30, 1948 in Corinth, Illinois.  William became a Christian after his marriage and had been extremely active with his church memberships, teaching Sunday School and participating on Building Committees.  He was a 32 degree Mason at Frankfort Lodge #567 A.F&A.M in West Frankfort, Illinois.  William's working years were spent in Real Estate, working for Construction Companies, securing property and leases for shopping malls and other new construction.  He had been employed by Tonn & Blank Construction in Michigan City, IN and BR Associates in Jasper, IN.  Outside of work William loved fishing, hunting and traveling with his wife.  William was the perfect example of a husband.  He loved his wife and family with all of his soul, being a protector, provider and  living his life cleanly, as to set an example to everyone what a good husband should be.    

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Martin of Jasper, IN; two grandchildren, Richard C. (Jennifer) Sizemore of Laytonsville, MD and Matt (Tessie) Sizemore of Jasper, IN; five great-grandchildren, Kayla (Brad) Bolden, Lauren Goad, Katelyn Sizemore, Austin Sizemore, and Michael Sizemore; and one great-great-grandchild, Liam Bolden.  He is preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Leslie Waite; his parents, John and Millie Martin; and his brothers, Lawrence, Alfred, John, and Frank, and sisters Phoeba, Rosetta, Mary, Della, Treva, and Annabelle.

Graveside services will be held  at Dillingham Cemetery in Corinth, Illinois at a later date.
