Zelma Gilpin

Marion-Zelma Lorene Gilpin, 86, passed away at 2:59am on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Zelma was born in October 31, 1929 in Williamson County to Layman and Gladys (Kelton) Jones.  She married Robert Gilpin on October 24, 1947 in Bartonville, IL.  He survives of Marion. Zelma retired from the VA nursing home.  She loved to hear the ocean and watch her grandchildren.  Zelma was an excellent wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Survivors include: Husband-Robert Gilpin of Marion Daughters-Pamela Mae Markos (Anthony) of Lockport, IL and Deborah Kay Ellis (Thomas) of Marion Grandchildren-Diana Markos and Robin Oko Great grandchildren-Kiaya Darlin Jennings; Kaylie Sue Trent and Braden Ray Trent Sisters-Leota Mae Paddock of Marion and Ruth Honey of Poordo She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Lowell Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. John Howat officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home.
